Property Acquisition, Disposal and Leases Policy
As Scottish Water continues to invest in improving and extending its infrastructure it has an ongoing requirement to acquire land for the building of new assets and to sell off surplus assets no longer required for its operational purposes.
Scottish Water has an established Property Acquisition, Disposal and Leases Policy which its teams involved in all types of property transactions are required to follow. This is intended to make sure that we achieve value for money as well as honesty, integrity, impartiality and objectivity in our property dealings. The policy is based on guidance contained in the Scottish Governments’ Public Finance Manual.
As well as covering the purchase, sale and leasing of land and buildings, the policy also covers servitudes and wayleaves (which confer rights of access and for services to properties).
