Kings Inch Road Rising Sewer Main Burst

We are carrying out an emergency repair on the rising sewer main running between Renfrew and Shieldhall in Glasgow.

There is evidence of a burst under the grassy area between King’s Inch Road and the Kenley Drive flats, opposite XSite Braehead, although there is no flooding.

Our teams are currently assembling the plant and materials needed to excavate down to the pipe while the area is being fenced off. At this stage we believe works will be confined to the grassy area and no traffic management will be needed on King’s Inch Road itself.

Tankers are operating to minimise the environmental impact and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) is being kept informed.

This section of rising sewer main is scheduled to be upgraded later this year as part of our £11.5million investment.

We are extremely grateful to residents for their patience and understanding and every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.
