Kettleton Clear Water Tank Investment
Project Overview
Scottish Water is investing over £19million to improve resilience and quality of the water supply in the Dumfries and Galloway area, specifical, improvements to the Kettleton site by extending the current footprint.
The project will commence on Monday 19 August 2024 and will take approximately three years, with completion expected by December 2027.
The project is being delivered by our alliance partner, ESD (Efficient Service Delivery).

What We Are Doing
The project includes installing a clear water tank, building a valve chamber, and making changes to the ground around it. It also involves creating an earth embankment, constructing an internal road, and putting up a boundary fence that is 2.6 meters high.
ESD worked with Scottish Water and the Local Highways Authority to carry out a Route Access Assessment. They found that there is only one possible route to reach the site. Therefore, there will be a mandatory speed limit for construction traffic and appropriate signage installed. We will also be implementing a restriction on waiting for the section at the bottom of Burnbrae.
We will make sure every precaution is in place to minimise disruption in the area.
